This far

What have I done this week?  Let me's been a bit rainy, so we haven't done much, but, oh yeah!  I've made 18 aprons.  Yes, 18!  14 half aprons, and 4 chef style.

The advent, however...sadly, will be saved for next year {boo, hiss}  I know, I know, I should have planned ahead and actually completed before December 1st, but here we are already into the second week.  And the advent is not ready.  That's ok though, because these 18 aprons were commissioned, custom ordered aprons (ie. I got paid!).

I need to post a picture, but I have 3 more aprons to go to complete one of the orders, then I will post all of the aprons (actually, I forgot to snap a photo of the first 10, so it will only be 11 aprons).  by the end of this week, I will have made 21 aprons.  Oh my word, I think that is more than I made the entire year.

I also just whipped up, a special gift for my BFF, hence, no picture because she will read this and it will ruin the surprise....but I found a tute here and here. (note: these links will not take you to the tutorials I used, but they will take you to blogs where I found the tutorials).

Amazing, incredible, inspiring?  umm no.  Insane, delirious, and crazy?  Absolutely, yes.  I spent the day in pajamas, sacrificed my shower (but got one after husband came home), and spent a majority of the day yelling "stop throwing toys" from the kitchen.  However, all craziness aside, everyone except #1 son got a nap (baby even got 2), we did eat lunch, and we did not eat cereal for dinner (that is a major accomplishment these days).  Oh, and #1 snacked on carrots all afternoon.  So aside from looking like a bum and having a living room covered in railroad tracks, I'd say it's been my most successful day in a long time.  Pictures soon to come.

P.S.  next week is my birthday.... passed my challenge!!!!  Horray

I am not a failure...I am Not a Failure...I am NOT a.....

I have to keep telling myself that.  For one thing, my kids have no idea about the advent calendar.  Well, other than the fact that they have seen me "hand sewing" these little squares for who knows how long...and I will continue to sew these little squares because....

Sheesh, what say is it?  Dang, oh well.  I have excuses, oh yes I do.  I have made a lot of progress on my commissioned assignments, and I am actually almost one with the first batch of aprons.  All they need are the waist ties attached and they're off to be gifted.  Second commissioned assignment is still in the works.  All of the aprons have been cut, ties need to be cut and sewn, then I think it will go a lot faster.

I can do this.

Swap apron: complete!

Hopefully, before Christmas, the advent will be accomplished.  There's always next year
