Why "Create Celebrate?"

I thought since I haven't really been able to make much stuff recently, I'd write a little explanation of this blog, because I don't know if I totally explained myself in the beginning.

This year, I will be turning 30 *dun, dun, dunnnnn*  For some reason, lots of people think that's a big deal, I guess.  I don't feel old, though I do have some gray hairs (no offense those of you over 30...I don't think you're old...or those of you who have gray hairs...silver hair is lovely).  I just thought that this would be my year to CELEBRATE, and I would spend the year CREATE-ing things (especially since I inherited a hefty stash when my grandma was put into a special home).

And when I say hefty, I really mean it.  Beads, fabric, lace, trims, binding, threads, patterns....and I didn't even take it all.

So I am using what I have this year, and giving myself a $30 budget (does the budget make more sense now?) in case there are little things I need to get now and then.  So I am past the halfway mark, and though I have no created that much interms of what I have listed on my blog, I am pretty pleased with what has been done (the most major reason for lack of creations, being my BIGGEST creation that arrived in April.  I guess I never posted about him...he's a delicious little fatty and now weighs almost 20 lbs.  Having 3 boys under the age of 4 makes it tricky for creating)

Thanks for reading!

Quick Fix

Does anyone else stress out when they don't have the opportunity to create things?  I sure do.  It's been a stressful time around here the last couple months (kitchen/bathroom drama being "fixed"...finally some professionals will be in to get the job done!)

I saw this tutorial yesterday and thought "awesome!  I can do that!"  Seriously took less than 10 minutes.  I will definitely be making more, maybe gifts or something.  E-A-S-Y!

so that's pretty much it for now.  Oh, I did make a totally awesome, reversible apron last week, same design different fabric as the one in the last post.  And I made this apron for the swap.

reversible to cupcakes (the apron swap theme was "Cupcakes, Cherries and M.E., oh my!"

ok, so that's it....still within budget.  Though I had a dream the other night that I cheated.  Not that kind of cheat, but that I bought more fabric, lots of fabric.  I felt like I was doing something morally wrong, then I woke up.  Whew!  I can do this....only $2 & something left.  At the rate I'm going with creating, I think I can stretch my stash for several years!  I'm actually selling some of my stash in our garage sale tomorrow.
